Fontana is making every effort to eradicate homelessness, utilizing all available resources. With 15 dedicated officers, various Fontana staff across departments, and partnerships with groups like Water of Life and CityLink, our focus is on ending and preventing homelessness. Water of Life Church plays a pivotal role by funding activities and supporting our region’s homelessness initiatives. Their move to Citrus & Arrow expands their reach to aid more residents.

Congressman Pete Aguilar and Senator Alex Padilla secured $4M in Congressional funding for our forthcoming Homelessness Prevention, Resource, and Care Center.

Fontana takes a unique approach by addressing homelessness on an individual basis, offering tailored services like job placement, counseling, and wrap-around support. Our efforts to increase affordable housing and combat homelessness have earned us national recognition, backed by state and federal partners.

In 2022, Fontana received $2.7 Million for the Family Homelessness Challenge Grant, $500,000 for the CalHome program, and $3 Million for Project Homekey. Project Homekey will provide 14 interim housing units with supportive services and 3 Affordable housing units, set to be ready for occupancy by this summer.

Cutting-edge programs such as COAST, SWAG, MET, and the Homelessness Prevention Center set a high standard for addressing homelessness. We take immense pride in our work. For inquiries, contact me directly at awarren@fontana.org or visit our community updates on www.fontana.org.
